Can I wash my cashmere sweaters?
Yes, absolutely. Cashmere is the epitome of pure luxury. When you invest in a cashmere item, you need to care for it with LOVE. We recommend to hand wash or professionally dry clean all of your cashmere items, due to the fine nature of the fiber. Wash your cashmere sweater in cold water at a temperature of no more than 30 degrees with a detergent that’s specifically designed to wash cashmere. Gently squeeze the water through the garment until it runs clear, but do not wring or twist. Squeeze any excess water out of the garment.
Lay your cashmere sweater out on a towel, gently roll up and press lightly. You can unroll and reshape by hand before leaving it to dry laid flat. Keep your cashmere items away from heat sources like radiators or sunlight. Air dry naturally, never use a dryer!!
How to store my cashmere sweater?
Always fold - never hang your sweaters. Since pure cashmere sweaters and accessories have the tendency to grow and lose shape when left to hang.
Why cashmere pilling?
Cashmere is a high quality, but very delicate fiber, and it deserves high quality care. Since the fiber is so delicate, it can “pill” after friction. This can happen with all sorts of fibers and materials and you’ve probably seen it before. It looks like small fuzzballs, that form once the fibers begin to come loose. This makes the cashmere comb truly an essential. Pills can be easily removed using a cashmere comb - never use a razor or scissors as that will damage the fibers and make it worse.
How to deal with pilling?
Our favorite is the BROWNEMS cashmere comb. Lay your garment flat and brush across the surface to remove the pills. We love the comb so much we offer it for just 10 bucks. It will be a complimentary if you spend $600 or more on full priced items. Go on, grab one. It will change your life.
